Sandpiper Lodge, 3525 State St. 1-800-687-5326, this is further into Santa Barbara but public transportation would be available to you, as well as rides from conference organizers.

Hope Ranch Inn, 4111 State St. 1-877-967-2901, www.hoperanchinn.com. A bit further north on State St. but in Santa Barbara.

Orange Tree Inn, 1920 State St. (805)569-1521, this is closer to downtown Santa Barbara than the previous two.

Super 8 Motel, 6021 Hollister Ave, Goleta, (805)967-5591 or 1-800-800-8000, www.super8.com, 2 miles from the airport and UCSB.

Quality Inn, 3055 De La Vina, Santa Barbara, CA (805) 687-6636, in a cool part of Santa Barbara with coffee shops and nice but reasonable resturants nearby.

Airline Connections

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is 2.5 hours from Santa Barbara. From there, you can fly to Santa Barbara Airport, take the Santa Barbara Airbus, or rent a car.

Driving Directions

to South Coast Inn
From 101 Northbound:
Patterson Ave. exit, to the right
Left on Calle Real (first stoplight), follow road about a mile
Inn will be on your right at corner of Calle Real and Kellogg.

From 101 Southbound:
Fairview Ave. exit, to the left
Right on Calle Real, follow road past several stoplights
Inn will be on your left at corner of Calle Real and Kellogg.

to UCSB from US 101

From 101 Northbound:
take the UCSB/Highway 217 exit
Follow signs to UCSB
At gate veer left onto Lagoon Road and follow it. Park in Lot 6, or turn right at Channel Islands Road and park in Lot 5. Centennial house is next to University House

From 101 Southbound:
take the Storke Road/UCSB exit
Drive south (toward the ocean) to a “T” junction with El Colegio Road
Turn Left onto El Colegio Road, Right onto Ocean Road, drive around the edge of campus until you pass the East Gate on the left; go through the light. Follow Lagoon Road and continue with directions above.

UCSB General Parking Information

Visitors must purchase a parking permit when visiting the campus on weekends, for $2 per weekend day. They are available at various pay points in each parking lot, payable with cash or credit card. Please remember your parking space number BEFORE heading to the machine. And display your permit inthe lower driver's side corner of the front windshield.

Metered parking is also available for 25 cents/10 min. with a max of 60 minutes.
